Sleep on It: Jon, Kate, Kim Jong Il, and Barack Obama
If you didn’t see this one coming, you must be living in a dumpster off Hollywood and Vine; according to news reports, Jon and Kate will no longer be plus eight but minus any adult supervision, or finally splitting up after a very tumultuous media breakup. Is it news? Who knows?
Teary-eyed Kate, shown in a short clip from the show on the news this morning says, “It’s something that has been building for a long time.” Jon, on the other hand, is thinking that maybe Subway’s will not be only the place he gets to eat, now.
Frankly, it was a thought that the imminent missile that might be…might be launched at the Hawaiian Islands was news, and Jon and Kate’s little break up battle was just another in a long series of star-struck reality show participants that cannot separate “15 minutes of fame” from the rest of their lives.
It’s Monday, June 22, 2009; do you know what happened on this day 10 years ago? Nope, well neither do I because that was the one section of the news that I neither read nor ponder. It is a day that came with the revelation that “sleeping on it” might not be the best idea for solving problems. Hm, I’m wondering how many lives have been spared because someone chose to sleep on it and did not act on the aggressive feelings that might have led to the demise of another individual? Clearly, there are some things that it is better to “sleep on” than to act upon.
Perhaps, Jon and Kate will sleep on it and not divorce. Kim Jong il and his Taepong missile will lay down their little heads and sleep it off, and the reasonable people of the world will come to their senses, but it’s more likely that Tuesday morning’s news will bring no real resolutions, and by Friday, this week will end as last week did with Obama still trying to pass his health care reform package.

Hmmm…. I say we should have blown that little island into the worlds deepest diving hole by now.. but unlikely to happen with such paciifsts in charge.
I can see Hawaii taking a hit and watching some press conference where Obama says “Well that wasnt very nice N. Korea”
Michael Reagan quoted his father, Pres. Reagan: “[T]his threat is with us, and at the moment, more imminent. One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.”
