Titanic Economy: Change you could believe in

Published by dfallis at 8:34 am under Living, News, Politics Edit This

The United States has, in the last six months, had a $787 billion stimulus/porkulus package, bailed out every large bank within her shores, taken the brunt of the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac disaster loans, buffered the bankruptcy of Chrysler and GM (with broken promises and conceptual ideas), increased the number of Czars to the president by 21, and watched as our tax dollars and prestigious market value have fallen to ruin, but we need Cap and Trade to create a more livable environment, and health care reform to make sure that everyone in the country is covered for medical care. As luck would have it, with only a small percentage of the $787 billion stimulus/porkulus package spent, we might have to increase that number with a second stimulus package to insure economic growth.

In the July 8th edition of the online Washington Post, a column was published comparing our economy to the Titanic. On July 9th the Washington Times asked if would not be more intelligent to request information-information that one ad has been airing for months-from countries that already have universal health coverage/socialized medicine about how their systems are working. This would be information that neither the president nor congress would like the people of the United States to have, because the answer is that the systems are failing miserably and people are dying without medical care due to the lack of benefits they have received. Basically, Obama has put a band-aid on the gaping wound that continues to bleed freely in the economy, and is now offering to do the same with health care and clean energy.

On July 4th hundreds of thousands of Americans celebrated our country’s birthday with tea parties; tea parties that were ignored by mainstream media outlets across the country. The purpose of those tea parties was to tell the government that we had had enough of this grandly designed change that has led to excessive spending and superior pork packaging. Did the Obama administration or elected senators pay attention? It seems unlikely as they are still trying to find ways to institute two monstrously consuming monetary programs (Cap and Trade, Socialized Medicine) that are, at the present time, unnecessary to revive the economy and will only further the failure of a cancerous stimulus/porkulus package. Somewhere between the campaign trail and the oval office, Obama changed the “change” and has found a way to bankrupt the United States, placing us in debt to countries that have not been favorable to our way of life. If this were the change he had promised, it would never have been the change that gave him the keys to the White House.
