Polls: Recent polls say that 56 percent of Americans want congress out

Published by dfallis under Humor, Living, News, Politics Edit This

When the majority has had it with you, then it’s time to start listening and stop trying to dictate your will, or that’s the way it should be. A new poll shows that only 25 percent of Americans agree with the way this country is being run, while 56 percent of Americans say we should dump the whole bunch and start over again. There is the 14 percent that think congress is doing an excellent job, but they have had too much Kool-aid, too much entitlement, and too much time to lie around thinking about their own lack of ambition. The 14 percent that believe in the way this country is being run are probably among the percentage of people who still wait by the chimney at Christmas for Santa to slide down and give them gifts-say a car, big screen television set, and a bank account with unlimited funds. Come to think of it, do they ask congressmen and women what they think while running these polls? Maybe the 14 percent are in the process of running their own campaigns to become representatives and congressional personnel.

Who wouldn’t want a job that allows you to sit around all day making up laws that other people have to abide by while you are exempt, spending other people’s money hand-over-foot, and living pretty much at the expense of the employer whose wishes you ignore while doing as you please? It’s the ideal job for the lazy, stupid, and mean-hearted of the nation. All of this adds up to the reason that we should not elect officials that have not worked manually and with the public for at least 10-years before they can even run for office, much less serve as a congressman or representative. The flaws in our laws that allow men who would otherwise lack employment to dictate how we serve our years on earth, are the ones that require the public official only to be of a certain age and have been a resident of a state or county for x-amount of years…it says nothing about the primary request that the average American worker must have in order to obtain a job. “No skill set, you’re perfect to become a congressman,” instead of “Don’t call us, we’ll call you.”

If you applied to a bank for a job that would place you in charge of other people’s funds, do you think that a work history that showed no skills or experience in the banking community/business would gain you employment with that bank? No, but we do it all the time with men whose only experience is that of having studied politics in college. As my grandmother was fond of saying, “I would like to be a rich man’s poodle dog, done up with it’s poodlin, but I have no experience as a poodle.”

The next time you go to the polls to vote, ask not what party affiliation your candidate of choice holds, but what his experience is, how does he run his own household, does he have a history of making promises that he cannot keep or has no intentions of keeping, and is this man a person that you would want to keep company with in your own home? These questions are relevant to the way the man will choose, and make choices about your future while serving (if they ever remember they are our employees) in a public office. If the man you choose is one step lower than your dog, it’s a sign that he will take a dump and fail to clean it up.

Senate Bill: Under consideration a bill that gives Internet Control to Obama

Published by dfallis under Internet, Living, News, Politics Edit This

The bill, written by Rockefeller and Snow, would give the Obama administration the right to shut down the Internet, private sector included, in the event of a cyber attack. The problem with the bill is that the language is unclear, and might allow the administration too much control over your computer. The article defining some of the problems appears in today’s opinion section of the Washington Times online.

My problem with this bill is that this administration has already built a reputation for wanting, and in some cases having silenced any opinions and voices that do not agree with their agenda. It’s not clear what constitutes and “emergency” and could leave open the possibility for the administration to shut down the Internet in the event that we have a situation such as that which happened in Iran. The people of the United States have enjoyed the freedom of speech and expression for centuries, but this bill could silence us all at this administrations whims of pleasure or disagreement. This is a bill that I would not want any of the past presidents to have had passed and enacted, much less this administration. Write and let your representatives and congressman/woman know that the Internet belongs to the world, not the president of the United States or congress.

The CIA: Eric Holder goes after terrorist interrogators

I must have forgotten who attacked whom, because the bad guys under this administration are not the men who plotted and carried out the highjacking of 4 domestic flights, and killed almost 3,000 people while destroying the Twin Towers, but the men who did their best to protect this country from terrorist. According to Eric Holder, these terrorist who do not and did not respect our Constitution and our way of life, should have been given the full-extent of this countries good graces and legal system instead of being interrogated, water-boarded, and imprisoned. Actually, only 3 of them were water-boarded, and it is an easy assumption that their almost 3,000 victims would have chosen this supposed torture as opposed to the fate they and their families suffered.

Eric Holder, the same man who dismissed the charges against 3 Black Panthers for threatening and denying others the right to vote, has to do his moral duty through the investigation and possible indictment against men who were doing their job in the service of the CIA.

It’s reminiscent of Bernard Goetz, the man who defended himself against 4 youths while they mugged him in a New York subway. Mr. Goetz was ordered to pay the mugger who was injured when he shot him in self-defense $3-5 million, because the poor misfortunate will no longer be able to mug another soul on earth.

Holder, by attempting to try the men in the CIA, has justified the cause of the terrorist and indicted the victims of 9/11. Perhaps Holder will be able to gain freedom for some “really great” criminals and mar the victims with his disingenuous fight for civil and legal rights. While we’re at it, why not get Terry Nichols a new trial, after all he and Timothy McVeigh only killed a 168 people and injured 680, but then again they weren’t Muslims with a cause. Personally, I hate what happened in Oklahoma City, and on 9/11 and have no problems with whatever measures were taken to keep this country safe from terrorist-domestic or foreign-but you have to wonder what kind of justice is involved with indicting men for doing their jobs and trying to gain better treatment for those who killed others with no concern, empathy, or remorse, for the lives they took.

Mr. Holder-affording him the title of Mr. only to distinguish his sex-is a man on a mission, and that mission is to prove to the people who would use their voices in freedom that they had best watch their Ps and Qs or they too could be tried for doing their jobs and loving their country. This attempt to disgrace the Bush administration is a disgrace to the United States, and to the system of justice that we once valued. Justice may now be interpreted according to the whims and wishes of this administration. The Constitution, it would seem, has come under fire and the American people who use their voices are being maligned, but not to worry, Obama is happy. You have to wonder when it became important for the country to make their president happy no matter the cost to the country or to the laws we’ve established.

Perhaps it would be best to go forward and quit looking back, because this administration’s popularity is dropping daily and the people who voted for change did not ask for the ineffective, audacious malignancy that has over-taken this country.

Obama and Nixon: They’re out to get me

Published by dfallis under Humor, Living, News, Politics Edit This

Obama believes that the opposition to his health care/insurance reform is a conspiracy by the Republican Party to ruin his presidency. Nixon had the same types of conspiracy theories about the Democrats during his first term and subsequent run for a second term, although his victory was a landslide against his opponent in the second election. Under this administration, there is no disagreement or dissention in the rank and file among Democrats, but the Republicans are not bound to the same code and are arguing that the proposed health care/insurance reform bill is destined to run up debt, cause shortages in medical treatment, and do a good deal to cause improper health care for millions. Doctors and other knowledgeable men and women have tried to point out the facts, and have been met with this dooming-me theory of Obama and the Democrats. The administration and the predominantly led Democratic senate have labeled all manner of people as Nazis, Un-American, home-grown terrorist, astro-turf participants, and unruly mobs, because the majority of Americans do not want health care reform as it has been set down in this bill.

During the Nixon administration, the people were in charge of their employees (politician); however, today’s employees (politicians) feel that it is their obligation to tell their bosses what they are going to do with their money. This is not a “Get-Obama” campaign, but the nation finally demanding that the politicians, whose salaries they pay, listen and do for them what they think is best. Nixon never ran a successful business, and it is apparent that most of the politicians on the hill have never been successful in business either, or they would know that the boss has the last say as to where his money is spent.

One woman in Montana who wanted to attend the Obama health care debate, described in great detail the lengths to which the government was willing to go to silence the opposition; bringing in the SEIU, and other groups to keep the common man (resident) from speaking their mind to the president. The email is circulating across the Internet, because this woman wanted people to know what really happened in Montana, and how the White House manipulated the event to make sure no opposing views would really be heard. This woman and many like her are in fear of their safety, and this all in the name of supplying people with health care. Makes you wonder what this White House would do if the bill under consideration involved death benefits. It would seem that the oval office has been home to many conspirators who claim conspiracies against them when the people decide that their employees are not doing their job.

People like Obama, Van Jones, David Axelrod, Rom Emanuel, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi-not to mention Dodd, and Murtha-should be kept from any job that demands they listen to any voice other than their own, because they cannot hear the people, they serve no interest but their own, and they play wild, fast, and loose with tax dollars…imagine the fall-out of large corporations when their employees have done such a lousy job of managing finances. Enron ring any bells?

Computer Technology: Great when it works, stinks when it doesn’t

Published by dfallis under Humor, Internet, Living Edit This

My 3-year-old computer is more trouble, with none of the benefits, than my 3-year-old granddaughter, although it cannot wart me as she is doing now. Needless to say, Dora the Explorer is not on at the moment, so that’s why she is ranting about things, but my computer…well, that’s another rant altogether.

It started having it’s fit about a month ago. There were no initial symptoms, just the usual IE fits, update me please, and a few strange blinks, quirks and such, but nothing vital or AI threatening, or so I thought until we added a slave drive, which gave an antiquated piece of equipment more reason vetch, bitch, and shut down. The slave only added 30 G to the computer and there was no reason to believe that it would not accept the new drive, because I didn’t install it, my son-in-law did.

That brings us up to Sunday when the thing started shutting down after (initial installation of the slave) having been on approximately 15-30 minutes. This morning, it was less, it started up, whirred, spit, went through it’s usual dissatisfaction, and all came up well until the blue screen, the screen of death, the screen that any computer user knows is not as frightening today as it was 15-years-ago. Today, that screen that everyone fears is just one more reason to shut it off, walk away, get over the feeling that your computer is really trying to cause a nervous breakdown, and use your husband’s laptop that only requires your patients to type a blog.

So while you folks read this and whatever else gives you pleasure today, I will be
tech-snooping to find the cause of my computer’s wrath. Have a great day I know I will…If I don’t find anything today, all suggestions are welcomed…LOL…even if I do, please feel free to comment with any suggestions, or your own computer rants!

Glenn Beck: Maniac or genius, you decide

Published by dfallis under Humor, Living, News, Politics Edit This

Glenn Beck is a comedian and a fairly reasonable guy for the times we’re living in. He isn’t Bill O’Reilly who always sees the glass half-full, he is a man that has the honesty to admit to having been an alcoholic-you cannot get that transparency from this administration-and the guts to ask questions that really matters.

Color of Change is an organization that has 600,000 members, and an attitude. Not because Mr. Beck said that he thinks that Obama is a racist who hates whites, but because Mr. Beck questioned the activities of ACORN. Obama, himself, admitted to having been prejudice before he began his campaign, so I put it to you that the question of racism is moot. Van Jones, on the other hand, pretends to care about the ecological ramifications of a world that he holds no love for while acting as Green Czar for the Obama administration, and while he no longer heads the Color of Change organization, he has set his sights on eliminating the free speech that Mr. Beck enjoys on his afternoon opinion news show. Opinion news is nothing new, but lately, it must be very Pro-Obama, or it’s wrong and is an element to be squashed.

Here’s the argument in a nutshell, if you’re prejudice, biased, or otherwise inclined to hate because of the color of one’s skin, then you probably do not eat green veggies either and therefore are somewhat limited in life, as I believe Mr. Jones has been and will be for the entirety of his life. Mr. Jones is pretty lucky to enjoy the post that he has been appointed and should remember that it is rare occasion when an ex-convict is able to serve as a civil servant. Far from that, he is arrogant in assuming that he might have corporations shut their doors to paying customers for the benefit of 600,000 members.

We spend between $250 and depending upon the month-it could be January when tax returns are in season and expendable for luxury items–$1000 with Wal-Mart’s, but if they do not want to receive this monthly income, which in actuality comes about $800 a month, then we will spend that with the Kroger store. I’m sure Kroger will be grateful for our hard-earned dollars. We have a Sprint phone, but it might become an ATT or another phone company’s client if they choose to punish Mr. Beck for speaking his mind. Clorox, guess what? We haven’t used your product in years; septic tanks don’t take kindly to the bleach. CVS, you will get your funds from someone, but not from us. We the working class, that have no color blinders, could care less what the Color of Change wants and the biases with which they operate. Mr. Jones’ days are numbered, as are the days of this administration if they believe they can make all Americans “Kow-tow” to some imagined pressures brought on by this administration and the congress, most of which will not have jobs if there is another legal election.

If you are interested in expressing your disagreement with the tactics taken to get rid of freedom of speech, and want to let these companies know that we believe in freedom of speech, write me, I have emails and phone numbers.

Social Security v Socialistic Ideology: Ousting the elders

Published by dfallis under Humor, Living, News, Politics Edit This

My parents do not receive any form of help to pay for the cost of their utilities, one of which encompasses a fair amount (1/3) of his social security check each month. They’re on Medicare, my dad has prostate cancer, and my mom has dementia and Hodgkin’s, which requires a good deal of medication. Now, with no raise in benefits and the government trying to introduce a new medical plan, Obama is trying to borrow from the Medicare program to pay for the Health Care/Insurance Reform bill and wants his Cap and Trade initiative to pass, which if passed would send utilities through the roof, so how will the elders survive all this?

I’m unaware of other peoples parent’s situation, but if they are facing the same strains as my parents, then it will fall to us to aid in their needs. We don’t mind, because a good portion of the time we fulfill these needs anyway, but we don’t possess the unlimited funds to continue with more monetary commitments because the government has taken it upon themselves to borrow from Peter to pay Paul, and adjust health cost for a good many people who could afford insurance if they chose to have it. One of the major problems, and even liberals are aware of it, is that our government has chosen to reward those that are not citizen with health care, social security benefits, and a disproportionate amount of welfare aid, including food stamps, and vouchers.

While Obama and congress seem hell-bent on ridding this country of the very individuals who made it great, they tax those who do work to pay for those who want work and the social security administration is going broke due to their efforts. The elders who will be living hand-to-mouth and month-to-month paid for the very benefits they are being denied and have had taken away because they can no longer work and are seen as pariahs’ in our society, how did that happen? Ask your congressman/woman, and they will tell you whatever the latest, best, and most efficient line of bull available to the government to take away what never belonged to them, in the first place. Read up on what it says about Social Security, Medicare, and then realize that these programs designed to help the elderly will not even be available to help you as you age.

It’s our moral duty, as citizens of the United States to ignore the plight of the elderly, invoke programs that will bankrupt this country, and to not question the “all-knowing” parties of choice. Congratulations, we have just entered the millennium with a heartless government and stupid nation that voted these desperados into office. I’m certain our parents are all too proud.

Presidential Term Limits: How long is long enough

Published by dfallis under Living, News, Politics Edit This

When Obama wanted the United States to aid and abet a Constitutional dodger in Managua, could anyone-but a few-have known that it was because he was in the process of trying to amend our Constitution so that he would be in office for the remainder of his natural life? It was not a surprise when I received an email out-lining H. J. Res 5 that would remove the time-limit set on how many years a man could serve as President of the United States. Representative Jose Serano, (D) N.Y. , introduced the amendment on 01/16/09 and the subcommittees on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties received it on 02/09/09. The media has not been carrying any information about this and it is one more reason to wonder what this administration thinks their duties to the people of this country truly are, or if they feel any duty to the people of this country. There are several web sites carrying information on this bill:
Govtrack.us
OpenCongress.org
WashingtonWatch.com

Write your Congressman/woman, and representatives and let them know that 4-8 years is enough of any one administration. It allows the party in power enough time, as it is, to screw up what the next party that enters the White House has to straighten out. We don’t need a Hitler, Stalin, or Chavez, and it’s looking like we cannot afford the present administration for more than 4-years.

Farmville: The games of Facebook

Published by dfallis under Humor, Internet, Living Edit This

Yesterday an old and very dear friend sent an invitation for me to join the game Farmville, on Facebook, so I checked it out. The premise is not too terribly difficult, once you get your character developed, and you buy seed, plant and hoe, and get a few animals-I have two-to start your farm. Here’s the thing that I didn’t realize, at first, you have to tend the farm.

Oh yes, you have crops growing, and animals eating in earnest, and you have to take care of these. Most of the games that I had played online before this, you could just play when you wanted and click off to find other things to do on the computer. Needless to say, I let strawberries ripen and die and had no realization that that would happen. Silly me, it’s a farm.

Tonight, well…it’s really 1:02 in the morning and I’m trying to get this crop of strawberries grown before I go to bed. I suggest buying wheat, squash, and eggplant, because they take approximately 2 days to develop…and are easier for the lazy farmer to tend. Happy grazing, on the Facebook Farmville, if you try this game. I know that we will be more careful in our selection of crops so we do not ruin another harvest for our poor little avatars.

Our Founding Fathers: The purple mountain erupts

Published by dfallis under Humor, Living, News, Politics Edit This

I am sure that when the founding fathers wrote the Constitution they could not imagine the people who would inhabit the United States of America. When they said that all men were created equal, it’s unlikely that they foresaw a Florida mayor who wore stilettos and a mini-skirt to work, or South Carolina governor who could not shut up about his wild and tainted affair with a South American woman. When they included the passage about bearing arms, they certainly had no idea that a group of nudist would use that passage as the means by which to strip down to the ca-chas and parade around naked. I know they didn’t see Dennis Rodman coming, or Liberace, so how could they have imagined the many ways in which the Constitution would be twisted to meet the varying and increasing needs of foreigners and terrorist, alike?

Do the terrorist who align themselves with Al-Qaida have a Constitution that gives them the imminent right to blast all others in the world around them to smithereens? Oh yea, stupid question they call it the Koran and Mohammad gets to be more than a God. He’s the all-seeing leader that ignores the rights of anyone with a bad case of de-pigmentation. He probably didn’t get a chance to read the study that talks about all humans originating in Africa and the different continents they migrated towards having altered their pigmentation. Frankly, it was noted early on by someone that to believe in something is better than to believe in nothing, so any form of a higher being will do for sake of argument.

You know they didn’t see that Global Warming thing coming, because their clothes were made of wool and any other fashion statement was just as accommodating to the cold of the northwest shores. There have been winters, here in Texas, that the buffalo robes worn by Native Americans certainly appeared to be the outfit for the season. Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett, and Jim Bowie lived off the land, so men in their generation weren’t worried about food stamps and entitlements; they just shot what they could eat and anything that threatened their homes and families too (or one could imagine that was the way of it). Soup kitchens weren’t necessary because all men shared a trust that allowed for the hungry to knock on any door and get a meal. And what the heck, homelessness was the standard of the day until the neighbors could get together in the spring to build one another a house. Good ole rip-roaring snort, a dance or two, and everyone went home happy.

Then came the modern politicians. Let’s just start with last century when Teddy Roosevelt used the explosion of the battleship Main to start his own private little scuffle. Buy it, rent it, watch it, and then understand that the men in the movie Rough Riders thought they were fighting for home, family, and freedom. Then you can understand that messages, actions, and wars are not always right, but they are right at the time for the people duped into believing the bull that politicians sell. Somehow, on some distant shore, a king got himself killed and the world went to war again, in the name of freedom…still reading and trying to figure out why some countries just cannot be happy until everyone on earth is involved in their scuffles, but you can bet that a politician stirred up that pit of vipers. Wars happen and people die, but there is always a politician or a terrorist who got the whole mess started. So what about those founding fathers, think they would re-write that Constitution with stronger language, if they could see what a mess we have become?
